Spain will allocate nearly one billion euros to Ukraine in 2025: what the funds will be used for

Іспанія планує надати Україні майже мільярд євро у 2025 році: куди підуть ці кошти?

Spain has promised to provide Ukraine with assistance amounting to one billion euros to support the country in maintaining its sovereignty and defense. The Spanish Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Albares, announced that the financial package would include the purchase of weapons from the United States and other equipment, such as generators to restore energy supply after potential Russian attacks.

'Spain has a long-term commitment to the sovereignty and defense of Ukraine and will uphold it as long as the war continues'

The minister also reminded that last year Spain allocated 1 billion euros for military equipment for Ukraine, and support in 2025 will be at the same level. In addition to financial assistance, Spain is also actively supporting Ukrainian refugees and other initiatives such as Ukraine's accession to the EU and the establishment of a tribunal to hold Russian officials accountable for aggression.

'The entire government is united in its aspiration for peace in Ukraine and Europe, the entire government understands that a lot is at stake in Ukraine: its sovereignty and freedom, as well as human rights, international law, and international humanitarian law'

These important commitments were made during the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Spain, which is an important step in strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
