The Ukrainian language is now officially recognized in the Brazilian city of Prudentópolis. Here lives a large Ukrainian community made up of descendants of settlers who arrived in Brazil in the 19th and 20th centuries. Local residents actively support the Ukrainian language, preserving traditions and cultural heritage.

Even to this day, the local community actively supports the Ukrainian language, customs, and cultural heritage.

In October 2021, the Prudentópolis city council unanimously passed a resolution granting the Ukrainian language the status of one of the official languages of the city. Local residents, including Huto Pashko, continue to communicate in Ukrainian and celebrate traditional holidays such as Christmas Eve, Christmas, and Easter.
