The Russian offensive in the Pokrovsk direction proved unsuccessful for the occupiers, despite their significant efforts and numerical superiority. Although the Russians managed to break through towards Dobropillya, this threat was quickly neutralized.
Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Trehubov, spokesman for the Joint Forces Operation 'Dnipro', explained that the breakthrough by the Russians served as a 'wake-up call' for the Ukrainian defense forces, but due to a lack of personnel on their side and a large number of enemy troops, the threat was eliminated.
'It is bad when a fire starts at all, but it is good that this time we managed to prevent a negative scenario. It arose due to a lack of personnel on our side and a large number of personnel on the Russians' side in that direction', Trehubov said.
Although the Russian troops managed to advance a little further than they had planned, they came into contact with the 'Azov' units, and after that, they suffered a collapse. Being cut off from the main forces, they could not continue their advance.
'The Russians planned to complete the main part of their Donetsk campaign, but they failed. Despite all the gathered forces, they could not achieve their goal. This indicates that the Russian campaign has not gone as they expected', Trehubov emphasized.
Thus, the Russians, despite their numerical superiority and the use of advanced technologies, could not succeed in their summer campaign in the Pokrovsk direction, facing active resistance from the Ukrainian troops.
