On the evening of July 12, a real storm with thunderous winds passed through Kharkiv and the region. Wind gusts reached speeds of 20 meters per second. As a result of heavy rain, hail, and violent winds, many electrical poles and rooftops were damaged, and the city was overwhelmed by fallen trees.
In the Kharkiv region, power supply was partially cut off in Balakleya, while the villages of Verbovka and Borshchivka were left completely without electricity. Kharkiv also faced problems with water supply and electricity. Unfortunately, the storm also led to tragic consequences. A 56-year-old woman died from a falling tree in the village of Pervotravneve in the Zmiiv community, and a small girl in the Osnovyansky district of Kharkiv was hospitalized after a tree fell on her.
Fortunately, rescuers quickly responded to the events: they were called out six times to remove fallen trees that blocked roads in Nemyriv, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, and other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Additionally, other regions of Ukraine also suffered from the storm in early July, as noted in the news.
