On July 7, a powerful storm struck the eastern part of Slovakia, causing significant destruction. In the Prešov and Košice regions, 25 emergencies were declared due to strong winds and rain that damaged residents' property, infrastructure, and transport networks. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing Aktuality.
The storm brought winds of over 90 km/h and was accompanied by fallen trees, torn-off roofs, and power outages. It turned out that even the fountain in Košice stopped working due to the storm - one tree fell nearby, while another hit the statue of the marathon runner at the Peace Marathon Square.
