Kyiv residents who purchased trips on the transport card at the old rate will not lose their money after the fare increase. If all trips cannot be used by the end of the transition period, the funds will automatically be returned to the transport wallet without contacting customer support. This is reported by the team "Kyiv Digital".
Unused trips in Kyiv: what will change after September 15
At "Kyiv Digital", it was explained that all trips purchased until July 14 at the old rate of 8 hryvnias will remain valid until September 14 inclusive.
Starting September 15, unused trips will be automatically canceled. At the same time, their value will not disappear: the system will automatically recalculate the funds to the transport card wallet.
Passengers do not need to submit applications or contact customer support. The entire process will take place automatically, without additional actions from users.
New fares for travel in Kyiv: how to use the refunded money
After the money is refunded, it can be spent on purchasing new trips or other transport tickets available in the system.
This mechanism was introduced due to the change in fares for public transport in the capital. The transition period allows passengers to gradually use trips purchased at the previous price.
Since July 15, the cost of a single trip on public transport in Kyiv is 30 hryvnias. In addition, from August 1, the city authorities plan to introduce a new transfer ticket that will be valid for 90 minutes. At the same time, following the fare changes in public transport, fares for certain private minibus routes have also started to increase.
Let us remind you that emergency rescue operations have been completed in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv at the site of the impact on a 16-story residential building. As a result of the Russian attack on July 2, 31 people died, and 102 were injured.
