Series of Attacks in Dnipropetrovsk Region

The strike on Dnipro was part of a broader wave of Russian bombardments that occurred on May 18 and 19. On the night of May 19, Russian forces targeted infrastructure facilities belonging to the Naftogaz Group in the Dnipropetrovsk region, using three ballistic missiles. Earlier, on the night of May 18, Russian drones struck critical infrastructure sites of Naftogaz in the same region. Among the targeted locations was a Ukrnafta gas station, where two female employees were injured. The station's building and equipment were completely destroyed.

Additionally, in the Kharkiv region, a drone previously damaged a Naftogaz gas extraction facility, and a company facility in Zhytomyr region also came under attack. The assault on Dnipro caused extensive damage, affecting approximately 20 apartment buildings and private homes. Among the damaged structures are:

  • two kindergartens
  • a gymnasium
  • a mosque
  • a university building
  • a tram

This attack underscores the ongoing volatility in the region and the conflict's toll on civilian infrastructure. With relentless shelling, local residents face severe threats to their safety and well-being, alongside the destruction of buildings that could have long-term consequences for the community. The crisis in the Dnipropetrovsk region highlights the need for international support and efforts to protect civilians amid the armed conflict.

The recent attack on Dnipro follows a series of escalating military strikes in the region, raising concerns about the ongoing threat to civilian life and infrastructure. For those seeking to understand the broader implications of these assaults, the rising death toll and damage from previous drone strikes further illustrate the dire situation faced by local residents.
