Overnight Drone Strikes Hit Kyiv and Zaporižžja: Casualties Reported

Вночі безпілотники атакували Київ і Запоріжжя: повідомляють про жертви

Assaults on Ukrainian Cities

During the night of May 5, the capital city of Kyiv came under attack from hostile unmanned aerial vehicles. In response, the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, urged residents to stay in shelters, stating:

“It is loud in the capital. Please remain in your shelters!”

Earlier, on April 28, the Russian army targeted Zaporižžja, resulting in two people being injured, according to preliminary reports. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporižžja Regional Military Administration, reported:

“The enemy is attacking Zaporižžja. Preliminary information indicates two injured. The air raid alert continues. Stay in safe places until the all-clear.”

On the night of April 22, an alert was also declared in Zaporižžja due to the threat of drone, ballistic missile, and guided aerial bomb strikes. That attack resulted in one fatality and one injury.

Additionally, Russian occupiers struck transport infrastructure in Zaporižžja, sparking a fire and damaging private homes and non-residential buildings. Ivan Fedorov emphasized:

“Unfortunately, one person has died. As a result of the enemy attack on Zaporižžja, a fire broke out, and private houses and non-residential buildings were damaged.”

Strikes on Odesa

Also on April 28, strikes were recorded in Odesa targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure. The most extensive damage occurred in the Prymorskyi district, where residential buildings, a hotel, and sites in the city center were hit. The majority of the injured, including children, sustained wounds.

These attacks on Ukrainian cities highlight the escalating tensions in the region and the continuation of hostile actions against civilians.

The situation in Ukraine remains tense, with fresh instances of strikes on civilian objects raising public concern. Authorities urge citizens to follow safety measures and stay in shelters during air raid alerts. These events underscore the ongoing military operations and their impact on daily life in the country.

As the situation intensifies, recent reports indicate that Russian forces have executed numerous strikes across the Zaporizhzhia region, targeting over 50 settlements within just 24 hours. This escalation underscores the ongoing threat to civilian safety and infrastructure in Ukraine, further complicating the already precarious security landscape.
