Kyiv Region Shelling Kills Two and Injures Four in Residential Building Attack

Обстріл житлового будинку на Київщині призвів до загибелі двох людей та чотирьох травмованих.

Deadly Night for the Bilohorodka Community

A Russian attack on the night of January 28 proved fatal for the Bilohorodka community in the Kyiv region. The shelling killed a man and a woman, while four others were wounded. The injured include a young woman and two children who suffered acute stress reactions, and one man was treated for smoke inhalation. This assault is part of a wider pattern of attacks on civilian areas far from the front lines.

The strike hit a multi-story residential building, igniting a fire on the roof and top floor that firefighters managed to contain. The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnik, confirmed the details of the incident.

Capital City Targeted by Drones

Separately, Russian forces also launched an attack using explosive drones against Ukraine's capital. Kyiv's air defense systems were activated during the assault. In the Holosiivskyi district, falling drone debris damaged windows in an apartment building and the roof of a high-rise. Reports of a fire on the roof of a non-residential building were not confirmed.

These events underscore the ongoing aggression in Ukraine, which continues to take a heavy toll on civilian life. The targeting of residential buildings raises serious concerns for the safety of the population in the region. The drone attacks highlight both the escalation of the conflict and the persistent threat from Russian forces, emphasizing the critical need for enhanced air defense capabilities across Ukraine.
