Deadly Night Strikes Across Ukraine

An overnight Russian assault on Ukraine left roughly 100 people injured, with four confirmed dead. In the capital city of Kyiv, close to 30 residential buildings were either damaged or completely leveled. Emergency crews from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), the National Police, and municipal utility teams are actively working at the sites of the attacks.

President’s Response

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to all personnel currently managing the aftermath of the strikes.

“I thank all of our services who are now working at the sites of the overnight Russian strikes,” he stated.
He also offered his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives:
“My condolences to the relatives and loved ones.”

Furthermore, Zelenskyy thanked everyone assisting the victims:

“I thank each and every one who is helping the victims.”
He also underscored the crucial role of international partners, stressing that “concrete steps are needed to strengthen air defense – the supply of missiles must not stop even for a single day.”

These events once again highlight the severe situation in the country and the urgent need to bolster the air defense system to protect civilians.

Incidents like this emphasize the importance of continued international support for Ukraine in countering aggression. Strengthening air defense is critically important for ensuring the safety of peaceful citizens and reducing the negative consequences of such attacks. It is vital that global partners keep providing the necessary aid so that Ukraine can effectively counter airborne threats.

The recent attacks on Kyiv are part of a broader pattern of increased aggression, as evidenced by the staggering number of aerial assaults on Ukraine. In just one week, over 3,170 drones and 74 missiles have been launched by Russian forces, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced defense measures.
