Russian Military Strikes in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

In the early hours of July 12, Russian forces launched more than ten attacks across five districts of Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, killing three people. The strikes—carried out with drones and artillery—targeted Nikopol, Kryvyi Rih, Synelnykove, the Verkhnodniprovsk community, and the city of Dnipro itself. This region has faced intense bombardment, with over 50 daily attacks recorded in the past week alone.

Aftermath of the Shelling

In the Nikopol district, shelling damaged an administrative building, private homes, a farm structure, and a truck, where a 66-year-old man lost his life. In Kryvyi Rih, a Shahed drone struck an industrial enterprise, killing two people and damaging production facilities and infrastructure. In the Synelnykove area, the Ukrainian and Petropavlivka communities came under fire, sparking fires.

The Verkhnodniprovsk community in Kamianske district saw a gas pipeline damaged, while in Dnipro city, a food-processing plant was hit. Oleksandr Vilkul reported that

and added that 'all municipal services, transport, hospitals, and social institutions in the city are operating normally.' However, 'the threat of further strikes on the city remains.'

These events highlight the ongoing escalation of the conflict and the persistent danger to local residents in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The situation in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast underscores the continuation of active hostilities that devastate infrastructure and endanger civilian safety. The frequent shelling demonstrates that this area remains one of the hottest spots on the front line, underscoring the need for strengthened defenses and enhanced protection for local communities. Amid the constant threat of repeated attacks, it is crucial that emergency services and municipal utilities maintain readiness to respond to crises.

The recent escalation in the Dnipropetrovsk region is further exemplified by a separate incident where a woman lost her life and nine others were injured due to over 50 strikes in just one day.
