Kyiv Region Targeted in Overnight Assault
In the early hours of March 14, the Kyiv region came under Russian attack, resulting in civilian casualties and significant damage to infrastructure. The assault primarily impacted the city of Brovary and the Brovary district, with additional strikes reported in the Vyshhorod district. This attack is part of a sustained campaign of aerial bombardment against Ukrainian regions far from the front lines.
In Brovary, three people were killed and at least four others wounded. The strike was carried out using Iranian-made Shahed drones, which struck on Nezalezhnosti Boulevard near residential apartment blocks. The explosions damaged at least three residential buildings, shattering windows and balconies and destroying parked cars. Beyond the apartments, a family medicine outpatient clinic also had its windows blown out. The injured were immediately transported to a hospital for treatment.
Widespread Damage Across the Region
Further damage was recorded in the Brovary district, where a dormitory building as well as industrial and warehouse facilities were hit. Emergency responders, medical personnel, and law enforcement are working at the scene. In the Vyshhorod district, one person was killed, bringing the total death toll for the Kyiv region to four.
In addition to Brovary and Vyshhorod, four other districts within the Kyiv region sustained damage. The situation remains critical, with rescue services continuing to work at the attack sites to aid victims and clear the aftermath of the strikes.
This assault is part of a prolonged escalation of military actions in Ukraine, which continue to impact civilian populations and critical infrastructure.
Kyiv regional authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and adhere to safety protocols due to the heightened threat of aerial attacks.
