The Russian attack on Kyiv resulted in 16 injuries, including a 68-year-old woman and a 22-year-old police officer who died. The missile strike caused severe damage in six districts of the capital, damaging residential buildings, office buildings, a hospital, schools, and transportation. The flagship of the destruction was the office of the '5 channel' - the studio was destroyed, and broadcasting was temporarily interrupted.

Return to air of '5 channel'

The General Director of the channel, Vladimir Mzhelskyi, stated that the previous night headquarters was not affected, but some equipment and workplaces were destroyed. 'We are actively working on restoring broadcast and hope that today at 1:00 PM we will be back on air. Despite the circumstances, we are striving to convey news to our viewers and show that the channel is again operating fully,' Mzhelskyi reported.

Petro Poroshenko expressed his thoughts on social media about the destroyed '5 channel' studio after the Russian attack. He noted the importance of the channel in conveying truthful information in the war against Russia, hinting that it was precisely for this reason that the channel became a target of the attack.

Poroshenko also reminded that the first blow to the channel was cutting it off the air by the Ukrainian authorities, but he ended with his joking, yet optimistic message that the channel intends to continue its work despite hostile actions.

Further actions and restrictions

Currently, rescuers and police continue to work at the shelling sites, inspecting damaged buildings. In Kyiv, movement restrictions have been introduced on some streets.

The Russian strike caused significant damage in six districts, destroying not only residential buildings but also offices and the studio of a well-known television channel. Despite this, efforts to restore operations are ongoing with plans for full broadcasting.
