The situation in Ukraine after the Russian strike

In a nighttime Russian strike on Ukraine, 8 people were killed, and over 50 were injured. According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ivan Vyhivskyi, emergency rescue operations are ongoing in Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk. As a result of the shelling, hits were recorded in residential buildings, causing injuries to children.

In the Kryvorizhzhia district, there was a direct hit on a private house, resulting in the deaths of 6 people, including three children: a 6-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy, and a 17-year-old boy. At least 8 people were injured, including two children. In Kyiv region, one family was affected, and five people sustained injuries. Additionally, three people were rescued from the rubble in Kyiv region.

Consequences of the shelling

In Lviv, significant destruction of apartment buildings has been recorded. A police officer and a rescuer were injured, while 39 people have been rescued in Lviv. In Kyiv, there is one deceased and two injured; fires that engulfed a market and a garage cooperative have been extinguished. In the Kryvorizhzhia district, there are several missing persons.

The identification of discovered body fragments is ongoing. The mobile service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is operating at the strike site in Lviv. Investigators from the National Police of Ukraine are documenting yet another crime by Russia.

Every massive attack is a tragedy and pain for dozens of families. Units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs system – rescuers, investigators, explosive ordnance disposal specialists, patrol officers, psychologists, medics, and service personnel – are always nearby. And each time they prove: professionalism, cohesion, and dedication to their work are stronger than terror.

This incident is yet another testament to the scale of the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine. The shelling of residential areas leads to significant casualties among the civilian population, including children, highlighting the serious consequences of the conflict for peaceful Ukrainians. Emergency rescue operations continue, and services continue to provide assistance to the affected, which is an important element in supporting society in wartime.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate, with tragic incidents like the recent rocket strike in the Kryvorizhzhia district resulting in further loss of life, including children. Such attacks highlight the urgent need for international attention and support for the affected regions.
