The Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Department for Information and Education has released an official statement regarding a nighttime strike on the Dormition Cathedral at the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. A Shahed-type drone hit the altar area of the St. Stephen’s side chapel, igniting a fire that spread across 800 square meters of the roof. A second strike knocked down the dome and cross from the Tower of John the Hermit. The attack occurred during the night of June 15.

Russian forces carried out a massive combined assault on Kyiv and the surrounding region, deploying attack drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.
