Ukrainians seeking asylum in the Netherlands are struggling to find housing. Reception center spaces are overcrowded, but they are often denied housing. This has triggered negative reactions and calls for the government to take necessary measures.

In the municipality of Utrecht, they have already had to refuse housing to Ukrainian refugees. A lack of funding threatens even the closure of shelters.

Local officials explain that the law prohibits denying Ukrainians asylum, but this sometimes happens due to financial difficulties. This leads to lawsuits and appeals, complicating an already tense situation.

Ukrainians fleeing the war in their country continue to seek refuge abroad. The issues with obtaining housing in the Netherlands indicate an urgent need to address this situation.
