Political Consultations Between Ukraine and Germany
High-level political talks between Ukraine and Germany took place in Berlin, co-chaired by Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yevhen Perebyinis and Germany’s State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Office, Giza Andreas von Geyer. The discussions centered on strategic aspects of the bilateral partnership, including security, economic cooperation, energy, culture, and Ukraine’s path toward European integration.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Germany has provided Ukraine with total assistance exceeding €64 billion. In addition, Berlin has allocated over €1.2 billion in previous years to bolster Ukraine’s energy sector. The consultations also addressed Ukraine’s EU accession process, notably the opening of the first negotiation cluster, which marks a significant milestone in the country’s European integration journey.
Strategic Partnership and Continued Support for Ukraine
The discussions covered the current state and future prospects of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Germany, including the implementation of bilateral agreements and key topics such as:
