Germany plans to spend €25 billion on upgrading its armed forces. This step is part of the creation of new NATO brigades to deter Russia. According to data from
the Commander-in-Chief, the alliance has requested Germany to send up to seven combat brigades over the next decade, which requires the acquisition of a significant amount of armored vehicles.
Upgrade of Arsenal and Armored Vehicles
Among the equipment being considered by the Ministry of Defense and senior command are Leopard 2 battle tanks and GTK Boxer armored personnel carriers. The total cost of the upgrade is estimated at around €25 billion, but this may change during negotiations. A final decision is expected in the coming months, possibly by the end of the year.
Future plans may include significant investments in upgrading Germany's arsenal and armored vehicles to strengthen the country's defense capabilities amid rising global tensions.
