Financial support for Ukraine from Germany
Germany transferred €160.11 million to the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine, which became the largest one-time contribution to this fund. In addition, the Fund received another €3 million from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy of Germany. Thus, in total, during December 2025, the Energy Support Fund of Ukraine received €245 million in new contributions.
This money is aimed at supporting Ukraine's energy infrastructure in conditions where the country faces numerous challenges due to external aggression. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine noted that in addition to the Fund's mechanisms, Ukrainian energy workers are also receiving international humanitarian aid in the form of equipment.
Further cooperation with Germany
Additionally, Ukraine's Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the signing of new agreements with German partners totaling over €1.2 billion. Germany committed to allocate €11.5 billion to support Ukraine in the coming year. The German government also emphasized that it does not support peace under duress in Ukraine. These actions reflect the continuation of the partnership between Ukraine and Germany in conditions that remain challenging for the Ukrainian people.
This contribution from Germany underscores the country's commitment to supporting Ukraine in its struggle for energy independence and stability.
The support provided through the Fund is critically important in the context of the growing challenges faced by Ukrainian energy. It is also important to note that such agreements and funding highlight the duration and depth of cooperation between the two countries, which could serve as a foundation for future initiatives in various areas.
