At the beginning of next month, one of the historical landmarks of the Linderhof Castle park in Bavaria - the Moorish kiosk - will be closed for restoration. The work is scheduled to take about four years and will cost 16.6 million euros. This was reported by the Bavarian Administration of State Palaces, Gardens, and Lakes in Munich.

The Moorish kiosk was created for the World Expo in Paris in 1867 and was later purchased by King Ludwig II for Linderhof. This structure is considered one of the oldest exhibition constructions in the world. The kiosk impresses with its elegance and complexity of design, so it needs restoration.

King Ludwig II used the Moorish kiosk for special ceremonies where tea was served with hookah.

Earlier this year, the restoration of another architectural landmark in Linderhof - the Grotto of Venus - was completed. The work cost 60 million euros and lasted ten years. It should also be noted that the heat in Germany has led to cracks in highways, and repair work is currently underway.
