Germany is ready to finance two Patriot systems for Ukraine, as reported by 'Hvylya'. The information was confirmed by the German Ministry of Defense.
A representative of the department stated that 'other NATO member countries have also expressed their readiness to finance'. Further consultations will be held regarding the origin of the systems and details of the delivery.
With the participation of representatives from NATO, the USA, European allies, Ukraine, and the industry, financing mechanisms will be agreed upon,' he added.
Agreement between the US and German Defense Ministers
On July 14, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius agreed to involve a group of experts in gathering details about the Patriot system. This group, led by the Supreme Commander of NATO’s Allied Forces in Europe (SACEUR), will expedite clarification of all aspects.
Recall that the former NATO commander believes that the use of certain weapons could force Russian President Vladimir Putin to sit down at the negotiating table.
It is reported that Germany expressed its support for financing Patriot systems for Ukraine, while other NATO member countries also expressed their willingness to participate in this process. An agreement has been reached between the US and German defense ministers, which provides for the joint work of a group of experts to clarify all technical aspects of the Patriot system.
