The German company FFG presented the new self-propelled mortar PMMC G5 during the DSEI 2025 exhibition in London. This new military equipment is developed based on the PMMC G5 armored personnel carrier.

An expert in the field of history, Professor of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Peter Sahaidachny Andriy Kharuk explained that this self-propelled mortar impresses with its flexibility in use. This is achieved through a modular architecture that allows for the use of quick-change mission modules.

'The mission module of the 120mm mortar has compact dimensions that allow it to fit into a 10-foot container. The equipment is equipped with the 120mm Rheinmetall MWS120 Ragnarok mortar on a stabilized platform, ammunition, and a fire control system,' Kharuk explained.

A separate advantage is the automated targeting of the mortar using the fire control system 'Odin' and the navigation system 'Talin'. According to the expert, only one person is needed to operate such a unit, as all processes are automated, except for loading.

At the exhibition, the new self-propelled mortar PMMC G5 from the German company FFG was presented, which is noted for its flexibility in operation and high automation of processes, ensuring effective use in combat conditions.
