German exports to Ukraine increased, while Ukrainian supplies to Germany decreased
According to the data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, German companies exported goods worth over 4.6 billion euros to Ukraine, which is 30.2% more than last year, reports ntv.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian supplies to Germany decreased by 4.5% to just over 1.5 billion euros, leading to an imbalance in bilateral trade in favor of Germany.
Catherine Klaas-Mühlhäuser, head of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations, explained this increase by strategic goals.
At the same time, the German side expressed concern about a possible weakening of the anti-corruption fight in Ukraine, which could negatively affect the further development of economic partnership.
The sharp increase in German exports indicates active participation of German business in the processes of restoring the Ukrainian economy and preparing for future EU membership.
According to the data, German exports to Ukraine are rapidly growing, while Ukrainian supplies to Germany are decreasing. This may have important implications for both countries and will require the attention of authorities and the business community to overcome this imbalance.
