A new rehabilitation unit has been opened at the Boryspil Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Hospital with funding from the National Health Agency. Now patients will receive a full cycle of free medical care.
The new unit has a team of specialists from various fields: doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, speech therapists, and nurses. They provide patients with high-quality round-the-clock rehabilitation assistance.
The rehabilitation unit will also work with patients after heart attacks and strokes, using modern diagnostic and treatment methods. This will help improve the quality of life for veterans and military personnel needing rehabilitation after events on the front line.
The importance of launching a rehabilitation unit
“Barrier-free environment means being able to go through the rehabilitation process without obstacles” - this is the key message in the implementation of the project “Development of the Rehabilitation Assistance System,” which is part of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine for the period until 2030.
The unit is equipped with modern facilities and adheres to barrier-free principles, which allows for better provision of quality medical care to patients. The Minister of Health also noted the importance of this step in the development of the rehabilitation system in Ukraine.
