Peace negotiations in Geneva: format and positions of the parties
The new round of negotiations will be held in a trilateral format with the participation of Ukraine, the USA, and Russia. The Kremlin has already announced that the Russian delegation will be headed by a Russian presidential aide, Vladimir Medinsky. He did not participate in the previous rounds of negotiations, which took place earlier this year in the United Arab Emirates.
At that time, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha drew attention to the change in the Russian side's approach, noting that during the negotiations, pseudo-historical statements are no longer made. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky had reported that within the framework of the new round, the parties would discuss territorial issues.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia may take place in the USA in a week.
