Starting from January 17, 2026, new curfew rules will come into effect in Kyiv. They provide expanded opportunities for safe movement around the city during nighttime and clear requirements for documentation. This is reported by Trukha.
The changes were announced by the Kyiv City Military Administration. They emphasize that the new rules aim to assist residents in emergency situations, particularly during air alerts, power outages, or delays in transport.
New curfew rules in Kyiv
From now on, it is allowed during curfew:
-
to get home on foot or by private transport, including taxi, even after a delayed train;
-
to go to the Points of Invincibility at any time;
-
to use the assistance of 24/7 Points of Invincibility, including businesses providing warmth, electricity, communication, water, and hot tea.
At the same time, the city is strengthening patrolling. During nighttime movement, all citizens must have an identification document with them, and military personnel must carry their military record document.
Kyiv updated the curfew rules starting January 17. Night trips home and to the Points of Invincibility are now allowed.
Points of Invincibility and control in the city
The KMVA notes that the Points of Invincibility may operate around the clock. This refers to municipal locations as well as businesses that have voluntarily joined the assistance system. Enhanced control by patrols will remain a constant element of the curfew's operation.
The background for the changes is the need for rapid response to wartime challenges and ensuring safe access for Kyiv residents to safe places during nighttime.
Let us remind you, Kyiv has been living in a state of emergency for a week now.
