The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development reported that the implementation of new solutions for crossing the border by buses leaving Ukraine through the checkpoints 'Dyakovtsy – Rakovets' with Romania and 'Shegini – Medyka' and 'Nizhankovichi – Malkhovich' with Poland shows results.
Now only regular routes can register in the eQueue system for crossing the border through the 'Shegini – Medyka' checkpoint, while irregular buses are recommended to be serviced at the 'Nizhankovichi – Malkhovich' checkpoint. Restrictions for buses at the 'Dyakovtsy – Rakovets' checkpoint have also been lifted.
In the month since the implementation of the respective solutions, a significant increase in the use of these checkpoints and a decrease in the load on 'Shegini' with Poland and 'Porubne' with Romania have been recorded.
The decrease in load at the 'Shegini' checkpoint is more than 25%. For example, previously, over 1900 buses crossed this checkpoint in a month, but after the implementation of new rules, only about 1400. This is important for reducing waiting time for passengers, as queues at 'Shegini' can reach 10 hours.
The use of the 'Dyakovtsy' checkpoint has increased by almost 25%: in a month, nearly 550 buses passed through it, which is more than in the same period in previous years. A significantly reduced load has also been recorded at the 'Porubne' checkpoint.
The new solutions for crossing the border by buses have contributed to an increase in the efficiency of checkpoint operations and facilitated the process of crossing the border for passengers.
