The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has made changes to the regulations on the use of drones, simplifying the requirements. In particular, the changes do not concern the period of martial law and the three-month period after its completion.
Among the innovations are the simplification of flight and maintenance rules for drones, in particular the non-mandatory registration of many types of drones. The requirement for a flight medical examination for personnel operating certain classes of drones has also been removed.
'The conditions on the front line are changing quickly, and we are working to ensure that the military has more freedom in the application of modern technologies. Regulation should not overly burden them or create bureaucratic barriers,' emphasized Deputy Minister of Defense Valeriy Churkin.
The update of the regulatory framework was prepared jointly by the Office for Change Support of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Main Department of State Aviation of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Command of the Drone Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. These changes will allow adapting requirements to the specifics of modern warfare and make the use of drones more effective and safe.
The new order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine states that the changes concern the simplification of requirements for flights and maintenance of drones. The reform will not affect certain provisions during the period of martial law and the three-month period after its completion.
