New social payments 2026: 50 thousand upon the birth of a child and thousands for school supplies

Соціальна підтримка: одноразова виплата в 50 тисяч при народженні дитини та допомога на шкільне приладдя.

New social programs in Ukraine in 2026

In 2026, new social programs have been introduced in Ukraine, which provide for an increase in payments upon the birth of a child to 50000 hryvnias, as well as new compensations for parents and schoolchildren. These changes aim to support families and improve conditions for raising children.

From January 1, 2026, the payment for the birth of a child has been increased from 41280 hryvnias to 50000 hryvnias. This payment can be processed through the 'Diia' platform, as well as through the Pension Fund or Administrative Service Centers (ASC). Additionally, the 'eBaby' program provides for payments for nannies or private kindergartens, with a basic rate that has increased from 860 hryvnias to 8000 hryvnias. For children with disabilities, this payment amounts to 12000 hryvnias. The cost of the baby box has also changed and now amounts to 8451 hryvnias.

Additional payments and programs

Parents of first-graders will receive 5000 hryvnias for school supplies, which aims to ease financial expenses at the beginning of the school year. A program called 'Screening 40+' has been introduced for people over 40, which provides for a payment of 2000 hryvnias for a health check-up. The 'Winter Support' program also provides 1000 hryvnias to those who applied in December.

  • The '3000 km across Ukraine' program offers the possibility of free tickets, but it should be noted that the quota for these tickets is limited to only 10% of the total number of seats.
  • All these social payments are funded by Western aid, as expert Oleg Pendzin noted.

The implemented social programs indicate the government's intention to activate financial support for families with children, which is especially important in conditions of economic instability. The increase in payments and new initiatives may contribute to the growth of birth rates and reduce the financial burden on parents, which, in turn, will positively affect the overall demographic situation in Ukraine.
