New support for elderly Ukrainians
By the end of 2025, elderly Ukrainians will receive new types of support, including age-related pension supplements, one-time payments, and changes in pension calculations for 2026. These initiatives aim to improve the financial situation of pensioners and provide them with additional support in difficult times.
Monthly supplements and one-time payments
In particular, Ukrainians who reach the age of 60 will receive monthly pension supplements depending on their age. Thus, starting from December 2025:
- people who reach 70 years will receive an additional 300 UAH;
- those who reach 75 years will receive +456 UAH;
- and those over 80 years will receive +570 UAH.
In addition, single pensioners will be provided with an automatic one-time payment of 6500 UAH.
One-time payments of 1000 UAH are also planned. The application submission deadline will last until December 24, 2025. To apply for assistance, it is necessary to submit the relevant documents, including:
- passport and TIN;
- pension certificate;
- household composition certificate;
- act of the social inspector about the need for care.
It is worth noting that in 2025, the monthly supplement for single pensioners will be 944 UAH, and in 2026, this amount will increase to 1,038 UAH. Recall that from December 1, 2025, the basic pension amount will not change, but new pension calculation rules will be introduced in 2026. The average salary for pension appointments in 2026 will be 21,578 UAH 46 kop.
These innovations aim to improve the quality of life for the elderly, which is an important step in supporting social well-being in Ukraine.
The introduced changes in Ukraine's pension system reflect the state's efforts to improve the financial situation of older people, especially under economic challenges. As the elderly often face difficulties in meeting their needs, the new supplements and payments can significantly impact their daily lives. However, it is important that the implementation of these initiatives occurs effectively and without delays, so that pensioners can receive the necessary support on time.
