In Ukraine, new vacation rules came into effect on October 12. This was reported by the press service of the State Labor Service.
Starting from October 12, 2025, a new law №4514-IX will regulate the provision of vacations for athletes and sports judges for preparation for competitions and participation in them.
The main changes are as follows:
- Members of the national team of Ukraine and sports judges can expect a vacation lasting up to 40 calendar days. The mechanism for its provision is established by government resolution №565 dated 01.06.2011.
- This vacation will be granted to employees both at their primary place of work and while working part-time.
As for athletes who are not members of the national team, the conditions and procedures for granting them vacations will be determined directly in labor and collective agreements.
Under the new law, Ukrainian athletes and judges have gained the opportunity to expect a vacation lasting up to 40 calendar days for preparation and participation in sports competitions. These new rules will help athletes prepare better for competitions and enhance their effectiveness on the international stage.
