According to Politico, the planned 19th sanctions package against Russia, scheduled for September 16, is being delayed, but it is promised to be presented before the beginning of next week.

Initially, the European Commission planned to release this package on September 16, but this plan was disrupted due to the demands of U.S. President Donald Trump to European partners. Trump demanded more action on sanctions as a condition for continuing support for restrictive policies. These demands complicated decision-making in Brussels.

Representatives of the European Commission reported that the sanctions package presentation has been postponed to Friday, September 19, or Monday, September 22. The EU’s high representative stated that a decision on the package would be made soon. She also expressed the need to intensify strikes on Russian banks, energy companies, cryptocurrency exchanges, and the 'shadow fleet.'

The delay in implementing the new European Union sanctions package against Russia is linked to U.S. President Donald Trump's demands on European partners. These demands caused difficulties in decision-making in Brussels. The package is expected to be presented soon, and the EU plans to intensify sanctions against Russian banks, energy companies, and other sectors of the economy.
