Rapper Khas Faces Severe Health Challenges

Nazar Hassan, known professionally as Khas and recently named host of the popular show 'Karaoke on the Square,' has revealed a serious health condition that has kept him from performing for the past two years. Born with a kidney defect, Hassan undergoes regular treatment requiring surgeries every two weeks, each lasting three hours under anesthesia. The 35-year-old artist, who once headlined sold-out tours with 70 to 100 shows annually, now finds it difficult to return to the stage. He hopes to manage just two concerts per year in the future.

At the peak of his career, Hassan decided to stop touring even though every show was a sellout. He explained:

'I ended my touring career when all my concerts were sold out. Colleagues asked if ticket sales were poor. I wish everyone had such “poor” sales. I stepped away when I realized I couldn’t continue for personal reasons—psychological, moral, and later physical, due to my health.' Nazar Hassan

Show Returns with a Charity Mission

'Karaoke on the Square' is set to return to television on May 10. The new episodes were filmed on April 25 at Kyiv’s Contract Square as part of a charity effort to raise funds for the 'Titanovi' rehabilitation center. After filming, a scandal emerged around the show, though details remain undisclosed.

Hassan shared his personal struggles: 'Right now, I’m going through a series of surgeries and treatments. Every two weeks, I had a three-hour surgery under anesthesia, and the first thing I thought while lying there was, “God, how I want to be on stage.” Clearly, that won’t happen now because I still can’t physically do it. But when I can, I’ll maybe do two concerts a year, instead of the 70–100 I used to do.'

Hassan’s situation highlights the difficulties artists can face due to health issues, even at the height of their careers. His openness about his struggles may resonate with fans and peers, drawing attention to the need for supporting artists through tough times. The return of 'Karaoke on the Square' despite the host’s health challenges underscores the resilience of the entertainment industry and its commitment to noble causes, such as fundraising for the rehabilitation center.

As the anticipation builds for the return of 'Karaoke on the Square,' it's noteworthy to mention that the show will not only feature a new host but also a change in location. This revival comes at a time when the entertainment industry faces numerous challenges, making it a significant moment for fans and artists alike.
