Updated Legislation for Internally Displaced Persons
Starting October 22, a new law concerning internally displaced persons (IDPs) will come into force, introducing significant improvements to the IDP registration system. Certificates previously issued remain valid, so there is no need for re-registration. This measure aims to ease the administrative burden for those who already hold official documents.
From October 22 onwards, first-time applications for IDP certificates can be submitted through the 'Diia' mobile app, Administrative Service Centers (CNAP), or social protection agencies. Existing procedures for obtaining certificates and receiving support benefits for IDPs will continue uninterrupted, ensuring stable access to assistance.
Modernizing the IDP Registration System
The registration of internally displaced persons will now be managed through a unified information database dedicated to IDPs. Once the updated system is operational, individuals will be able to verify their registration status using an extract from the database, available in either paper or electronic format. This upgrade is designed to streamline record-keeping and enhance the delivery of aid to displaced populations.
Revamping the IDP registration framework marks a crucial step toward better supporting displaced individuals by simplifying access to documentation and social services. This reform has the potential to improve their social integration by facilitating access to essential resources. Additionally, the introduction of a centralized data system is expected to boost information management efficiency, enabling more responsive and effective assistance tailored to IDP needs.
