Tragedy at Maternity Hospital No. 1
At Maternity Hospital No. 1 in Novokuznetsk, the death of nine newborns was recorded during the New Year holidays against the background of quarantine. According to information, since the beginning of December, 32 children have undergone intensive therapy, most of whom were premature. The peak mortality occurred on January 8, when three babies died.
In connection with this tragedy, law enforcement agencies have initiated two criminal proceedings. The chief doctor of the maternity hospital, Vitaliy Kheraskov, has been suspended from duty. Women who were in the facility expressed complaints about a lack of medical staff and incorrect diagnosis, which raised concerns among patients.
