On the night of October 16, occupiers again carried out drone strikes on energy facilities in several regions. As a result, consumers in several areas were without electricity early in the morning. Emergency recovery works are currently ongoing.
Massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure
On the night of October 10, the Russian Federation again attacked energy infrastructure facilities in Ukraine. This strike coincides with the anniversary of the first shelling of the energy system, which started by the occupiers in 2022. According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the enemies hit the Ukrainian energy system using over 450 drones and more than thirty missiles.
Also, on the night of October 14, Ukraine was again under attack, where the main targets were energy facilities. Earlier, President Zelensky noted that due to hostile attacks on energy infrastructure, Ukraine may have to import electricity this winter.
According to the head of the 'Ukrenergo' company, Vitaliy Zaichenko, emergency power outages in Ukraine may last up to a week.
