Highway Travel Ban for Odessa-Reni Route on February 18th
Due to deteriorating weather conditions, a temporary travel ban will be enforced on February 18th for the M-15 highway from Odessa to Reni, a key route towards Bucharest. The restriction applies to buses, minibuses, and all types of freight transport. Passenger cars, however, will be exempt from the ban and may travel without restriction.
The Restoration Agency emphasized that these preventive measures are necessary as the weather poses a heightened risk to road users. The goal is to prevent traffic accidents and ensure driver safety during the severe conditions.
Additional Train Services in Kyiv
Separately, in Kyiv, additional Kyiv City Express train services will be introduced on February 17th. These trains will run between the Vydubychi and Darnytsia stations in both directions. The fare will be 15 hryvnias, with a travel time of just 10 minutes.
- Fare: 15 hryvnias
- Travel time: 10 minutes
To manage the weather's impact in the city, Kyivavtodor has deployed 256 pieces of equipment and over 3,000 sanitation workers for cleanup operations.
These transport adjustments are common in Ukraine during winter to maintain infrastructure and public safety. Drivers should plan around the highway restrictions, while Kyiv residents can take advantage of the extra train services for more convenient travel. These coordinated measures aim to ensure road safety and improve transportation access amid the challenging weather.
