Cases Handled by the Obolonskyi District Prosecutor’s Office
The Obolonskyi District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv is pursuing a court case to transfer ownership of a three-story hotel complex, covering more than 520 square meters, to the state. This building was constructed without proper authorization on state-owned land in Kyiv’s Obolonskyi district. The prosecutor’s office filed the lawsuit on behalf of the state, represented by the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. The hotel, which has been operating as a lodging facility, stands on state land designated for agricultural use and is under permanent use by a state enterprise.
Previously, the court ruled in favor of the prosecutor’s request to demolish the building; however, the order was not enforced due to various registration manipulations by the defendants. For example, documentation artificially inflated a 40-square-meter garage to 540 square meters and re-registered it as a separate non-residential building of 490.8 square meters with a new address. The property has been repeatedly sold and incorporated into a company’s authorized capital.
