Mandatory Military Registration for Female Medical Workers: Who and When Must Register

Обов'язкова військова реєстрація жіночих медичних працівників: хто підлягає та в які строки потрібно зареєструватись.

Registration of Women with Medical and Pharmaceutical Education in Ukraine

In Ukraine, women with medical and pharmaceutical education are required to register for military service. The registration procedure begins during their studies, and graduates have 60 days after receiving their diploma to report to the territorial recruitment centers (TRC).

Responsibilities of Educational Institutions and Employers

Mandatory registration applies to women who have obtained a medical or pharmaceutical specialty. Educational institutions that prepare medical and pharmaceutical professionals are obliged to submit lists of female students to the TRC two months before graduation. After receiving their diploma from universities, graduates have seven days to send updated lists to the military registration offices.

Managers of enterprises and state bodies are also required to inform the TRC about female employees with medical education who are not yet registered. It is important to note that women who are registered for military service may be called up for military duty or engaged in work to ensure the defense of the state during wartime on a voluntary basis, as noted by the TRC.

Thus, the new registration rules for medical personnel emphasize the importance of women's participation in ensuring the country's defense capability while creating additional requirements for educational institutions and employers in the healthcare sector.

These changes are part of a comprehensive mobilization strategy aimed at leveraging all resources to strengthen the defense of Ukraine in the face of military challenges. At the same time, it underscores the importance of medical workers in providing not only medical assistance but also addressing the defense needs of the state.
