Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced that the European Union is preparing to implement the 20th sanctions package during the first Sanctions Summit. It is already noted that the sanctions are having an effective impact on Russian oil and gas revenues, which may decrease by 35% compared to the previous year.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the success of the sanctions depends on their speed, cooperation, and political courage. She also highlighted the use of frozen Russian assets to compensate for the damages inflicted on Ukraine and expressed gratitude to partners for their support in this matter.
"Sanctions must constantly improve and close loopholes. Therefore, the process should continue, and we expect the 20th sanctions package soon," Svyrydenko noted.
The European Union continues its sanctions policy and seeks new ways to pressure Russia, particularly through the involvement of frozen assets. Svyrydenko expressed hope that the new sanctions will assist Ukraine in its fight for independence and territorial integrity.
