On December 12, 2025, the investigating judge of VAKS partially satisfied the request of the prosecutor of SAP and applied a preventive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months with the alternative of placing 1 million hryvnias bail to the judge of one of the district courts of the Transcarpathian region, suspected of asking for and receiving unlawful benefits.
As soon as the bail is posted, the suspect will have to comply with a number of procedural requirements, in particular:
- mandatory appearances before the detective, prosecutor, investigating judge, and court upon each request;
- notification of the detective, prosecutor, or court about any changes in residence;
- prohibition on communication with certain persons;
- surrender of all passports for traveling abroad and other documents granting the right to leave and enter Ukraine to the relevant state authorities;
- mandatory wearing of electronic monitoring devices.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court in a lawful manner.
On December 14, 2025, VAKS applied a preventive measure to the judge from Transcarpathia, suspected of corrupt actions, extortion, and receiving a bribe. Detention for two months was applied with the possibility of a bail of 1 million hryvnias. In case the bail is posted, the suspect will have to comply with a number of restrictions specified by the court.
