In the Odesa region, a criminal scheme was uncovered where police officers and officials helped people evade military service for a fee. Together with a father and son, a senior officer of one of the district recruitment and security centers disconnected people from the search database for money. They were exposed when they received payment for their 'services.'
A suspicion has been announced against a senior officer of one of the district recruitment and security centers in Odesa region, who along with a father and son, who were law enforcement officers, for $7 thousand 'facilitated' the exclusion of conscripts from the search databases.
The detained participants of the scheme divided responsibilities among themselves: police officers searched for individuals to be excluded from the search database in two districts, while the serviceman carried out this task. All individuals involved in this corrupt activity are currently being identified.
All participants in the case have been charged with receiving illegal benefits and have been placed in custody as a preventive measure. Such cases of corruption seriously undermine trust in law enforcement agencies and the system as a whole.
In the past, similar scandalous cases have occurred in other cities of Ukraine, which undermines citizens' trust in government institutions and calls for strengthening the fight against corruption at all levels.
