Ban on collecting firewood in the forest without a special document
Ukrainians are prohibited from collecting firewood in the forest, even if it is a dry tree. Violation of this rule is subject to monetary fines, reports agronews.ua.
The Ukrainian Forest Code divides forest use into two types: public access and that which requires special permits. Free collection of mushrooms, berries, flowers, nuts, and medicinal plants is allowed only for personal needs, therefore, a special logging ticket is required for the collection of timber.
It is prohibited to collect even naturally broken branches or trees fallen due to bad weather.
Wood, even, plays an important role in the forest system, preserving soil moisture and creating an environment for the growth of young shoots and other organisms.
Illegal collection of dry wood is subject to administrative liability according to Article 64 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
Fines for violation of this law for citizens range from 102 to 238 hryvnias, and for officials - from 170 to 272 hryvnias. In the case of cutting down a living tree, the penalties are even more serious: from 510 to 1020 hryvnias for private individuals and from 2550 to 5100 hryvnias for officials.
Earlier, information was disclosed on how to receive assistance for solid fuel up to 20 thousand hryvnias.
Violation of the prohibition on collecting firewood in the forest without a special document may lead to serious fines for citizens and officials. It is important to adhere to the rules of forest use to preserve the diversity of forest ecosystems and prevent illegal logging of forests.
