A paramedic from a Russian colony has been charged with cruel treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war. Instead of providing medical care, he tortured and humiliated the soldiers, which constitutes a war crime. The investigation indicates that the paramedic applied electric current to the prisoners, struck them on the head and body, causing suffering and pain. He faces a sentence of eight to twelve years in prison for such actions.
Currently, the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine is conducting a pre-trial investigation into this case, while the police are providing operational support. It should be noted that Russia systematically employs torture against Ukrainian prisoners of war, as confirmed by data from international organizations. Ukraine has also, for the first time, handed over a Russian soldier to Lithuania for criminal prosecution for war crimes, marking a historic precedent for international justice.
