OKSI Introduces Next-Generation Autonomous Guidance Technologies

On October 3, 2023, OKSI revealed a groundbreaking series of smart weapon guidance units that operate independently of GPS, laser designators, or radio signals. Utilizing electro-optical and infrared sensing combined with onboard computing, these systems autonomously identify targets mid-flight. Among the new products is an enhanced 81-mm Precision Guidance Kit (PGK) that delivers remarkable accuracy.

These guidance units are capable of functioning across a wide velocity range, from low subsonic speeds up to hypersonic velocities. They enable target acquisition after launch without requiring continuous laser designation, making them versatile for various combat applications such as:

  • counter-drone measures,
  • naval warfare,
  • land assaults,
  • indirect fire engagements, and
  • interception missions.

Additionally, OKSI has developed seekers based on open architecture standards that are actively integrated within U.S. defense initiatives, signaling compatibility with allied military technologies.

France’s DGA Awards MBDA Contract for ASN4G Hypersonic Nuclear Missile Development

In a major defense advancement, France's Directorate General of Armaments (DGA) has contracted MBDA to develop the ASN4G, a hypersonic nuclear missile slated for deployment around 2035. Designed to replace the ASMPA-R missile, the ASN4G will feature a range of approximately 500 kilometers and reach speeds up to Mach 3. This missile is a cornerstone in the modernization of France’s airborne nuclear deterrent, as outlined in the 2024–2030 military planning law.

Chris Holmes-Parker commented on contemporary guidance challenges, noting that “electronic warfare tactics have exposed vulnerabilities in signal-dependent guidance systems.”

The innovation represented by OKSI’s signal-independent smart guidance solutions could significantly reshape combat tactics, particularly in environments where electronic warfare threatens traditional targeting methods. The adoption of such technologies offers armed forces enhanced precision and operational resilience amid rapidly evolving battlefield conditions. Meanwhile, the strategic focus on developing the ASN4G hypersonic missile reaffirms France’s commitment to strengthening its national security through cutting-edge weapons modernization.

As military technologies continue to evolve, the introduction of advanced systems like those from OKSI highlights the growing importance of autonomous guidance in modern warfare. Similarly, the recent unveiling of the Gladius 2 strike drone by Poland's WB Group underscores the trend towards innovative defense solutions that enhance operational effectiveness on the battlefield.
