Horrible Tragedy in Izium


In Izium, Kharkiv region, a horrible tragedy occurred due to shelling by Russian troops, resulting in the death of a man and a woman. The man was 47 years old, and his wife was 42.

The Russian troops carried out several strikes with guided air bombs on the city of Izium. One of the explosions occurred on the territory of a private house, which sustained serious damage.




The attack by the occupiers with guided air bombs took place around 15:40, leading to this tragedy. The fire and the destructive impact of the explosion resulted in the death of two people.



During the latest shelling, an industrial enterprise, a cafe, the city Palace of Culture, residential buildings, and cars were damaged. Damage has also been recorded in Izium and the neighboring Balakliia community.



The Event Registered as a War Crime


Information about the tragedy in Izium was included in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations as a war crime under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This event is part of a larger conflict in Eastern Ukraine.



Earlier, Russian troops had already shelled and used drones to attack civilians and facilities in Izium. The authorities are conducting an investigation and supporting measures to protect the civilian population in the context of the conflict.
