Updated battlefield loss totals for the Russian military
As of September 2, 2026, fresh figures have been released for total Russian combat losses since February 24, 2022, with the largest one-day increases recorded in personnel, tactical UAVs, artillery systems, vehicles and tankers, and cruise missiles. These numbers are part of the regular loss accounting published during the ongoing conflict.
According to the latest tally, cumulative Russian combat losses from 24.02.22 to 02.09.26 amount to roughly 1,491,030 personnel, an increase of 1,390 over the previous day. Tank losses rose by 4 to 12,324, and armored fighting vehicles gained 6 to reach 25,263.
