Oleg Vynnyk refuses to abandon the Russian language

Ukrainian singer Oleg Vynnyk explained why he keeps Russian-language songs in his repertoire, despite the language issue in Ukraine. According to the artist, most of his songs are performed in Russian, which constitutes 70% of his entire repertoire.

He explained that he has no intention of refusing these songs at concerts due to their popularity among fans. Vynnyk noted that holding concerts without such songs is not right, as listeners value the nostalgia and carefree feeling that these songs provide.

«People come to listen to what was, this nostalgia, this carefree feeling, yes, all those things that we had in Ukraine», – the singer added.

Oleg Vynnyk's wife, Taisia Svatko, also expressed her opinion, reminding about the humiliation of those who spoke Ukrainian in the past. Vynnyk emphasized that he does not support the ban on speaking Russian, believing it to be wrong.

«Thank God, there is no ban. And I think it would be inappropriate today, on this day, by the way, to ban speaking Russian at all. This is wrong», – the singer summarized.

Sometimes it's worth changing your mind

It is worth noting that some time ago, Vynnyk expressed a completely different opinion regarding singing in Russian.

«If I were to open my mouth on stage in Russian, I would just vomit on myself»

Oleg Vynnyk explained why he does not refuse to sing in Russian at his concerts. He emphasized that these songs are very popular among his fans, who value the nostalgia and carefree feeling they bring. The artist's wife also shared her thoughts, stressing that banning communication in Russian is incorrect.
