Elena Kravets on Her Illness and Psychological Well-being
Actress and former member of the Kvartal 95 studio, Elena Kravets, has opened up about her long-term battle with urticaria, commonly known as hives. This allergic skin condition, characterized by intense itching and the rapid appearance of welts on the body, is something she has lived with for an extended period. Kravets discussed her treatment methods and the significant link she has observed between the disease and her psychological state.
In an interview with Masha Efrosinia, Kravets shared her personal experiences and emotions related to the illness. She stated:
'It is present, but it's under control. I haven't let that control slip for a long time because when I do nothing and something displeases me... But now, after going through all the treatment methods—I think, all the treatments, the processing, delving into psychogenic factors—I am in therapy. I have returned to psychotherapy after a pause.' Kravets also mentioned her husband, Serhiy Kravets, who has gone to fight on the front lines. She noted that their marriage has changed since his departure. The actress suggested that a certain kind of pressure she feels may be linked to external factors. She explained:
'There is one assumption—pressure. Any kind: physical pressure on my palms during training, psychological pressure, external pressure. A specific type of pressure that I, figuratively speaking, swallow, and then I realize: Why? You could have said no.' Elena Kravets
Kravets also spoke about internal conflicts that arise during moments of doubt and an unwillingness to face her own truth. She emphasized that when she feels inner peace, it becomes easier to plan her life. 'When I am relaxed, I can plan more or less; when there's an inner feeling that everything is okay—not in the sense that I control everything, but that things are falling into place so life is livable—the condition subsides,' Kravets summarized.
Elena Kravets's statements about her illness and its connection to her psychological state highlight the critical role mental health plays in overall well-being. Her experience underscores how inner peace and emotional regulation can be pivotal in managing physical ailments. Her reflections resonate with a wider audience, as the stress of living through wartime in Ukraine exemplifies the profound social and emotional challenges that can exacerbate health issues and strain personal relationships.
