Ukrainian Contenders in Key Events on Day Eight of the 2026 Winter Games

The eighth day of competition at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Saturday, February 14, will see Ukrainian athletes take to the venues in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. They will participate in several key events, including biathlon, freestyle skiing, and short track speed skating. Notably, the 2026 Games will mark the Olympic debut of a new freestyle skiing event: dual moguls, where medals will be awarded for the first time.

Competition Schedule for February 14

The day's schedule features a packed lineup of events across multiple sports. In Kyiv time, the program begins at 10:05 with curling matches in the women's team competition, featuring:

  • Italy vs. China
  • Great Britain vs. Canada
  • Switzerland vs. Japan

At 11:00, the first run of the men's alpine skiing slalom is scheduled, followed by the start of the women's freestyle skiing dual moguls (1/16 final) at 11:30.

In the afternoon, starting at 13:00, the women's cross-country skiing 4x7.5 km relay will take place. The women's biathlon sprint begins at 15:45. The Ukrainian athletes competing on February 14 include Khrystyna Dmytrenko in biathlon, Kateryna Kotsar in freestyle skiing, Yevhen Marusiak in the men's ski jumping, and Oleh Handei in short track.
